There’s no denying that Interim is one of the best parts of Wofford.
For a whole month, we get to take time off from academic classes and travel around the world, learn a new skill, or gain experience through an internship. Interim provides opportunities for learning outside a specific major or program and contributes to the wonderful Liberal Arts education that we will receive from Wofford.
However, most classes only meet for a couple hours a day, so many students find that they get bored much quicker than they expected.
There’s only so much Netflix you can watch, so we’ve put together a list of community events and things to do to beat Interim-boredom:
Live Music at the Coffee Bar | January 8th
Great coffee, cozy atmosphere, and live music from local musician Zac Parks.
Sundays Unplugged | every Sunday
Chapman Cultural Center, 2:00pm – 4:00pm, free
Enjoy your relaxing Sundays at the Chapman Cultural Center with live music from local musicians and free admittance to the museums (open 1:00 – 5:00).
Karma Sessions | January 13th
Spartanburg Art Museum, 5:30pm – 6:30pm, free (suggested donation of $5)
One hour of Vinyasa flow power yoga in the galleries. Bring your own mat if you can!
Spartanburg Contra-Dance | January 15th
First Presbyterian Family Life Center, 7:30pm – 10:30pm, $7 ($5 with student ID)
Lessons for beginners start at 7:30pm and dancing with a caller and live music continues until 10:30pm.
Contextile | January 16th
Spartanburg Art Museum, 7:00pm – 11:00pm, $25 (student price)
After-holiday Party to celebrate the end of their exhibit,
A Dyeing Art. Live music, food from Cribbs, open bar (for those who are 21+), and a wearable art fashion show from local and national designers.
ArtWalk | January 21st
Chapman Cultural Center & Various Galleries around Spartanburg, 5:00pm – 9:00pm, free
